22" (56 cm.) Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome, pale blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with defined space between the outlined pale lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, early composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, hands not original although appropriately sized and of the period. marks: 14. Comments: attributed to Ernst Grossman, circa 1882. Value Points: exquisite gentle beauty of the early German closed mouth doll, with fine antique costume.
