Description
13" (33 cm.) x 10". A wooden box with green paper cover, gilt edging and lovely engraving on the lid of colorful flowers, opens to reveal an exceptionally filled interior with material for creating paper flowers. Included are actual paper flowers in brilliant colors, as well as berries and leaves, and six round boxes containing petals of the flowers described on the exterior. Beneath the lift-out tray is a large quantity of early paper for creating additional flowers, and 17 patterns for making these flowers are given in the included booklet "Fleurs en papier". Paris, Javey & Cie,mid-19th century, an early version of the popular theme that continued to be offered until the end of the 19th century. Excellent mostly unplayed with condition.
