Poured wax shoulder head of young child with plumply modeled face turned slightly to the right, blue glass inset eyes in half-moon shape, tinted brows and lashes, accented nostrils, closed mouth with wistfully shaped lips, separately inserted golden brown hair, softly stuffed muslin body and legs, poured wax lower arms and hands, wearing early cream cotton gown with cartridge pleated waist, ruffle-tiered sleeves and skirt, undergarments, bonnet, stockings, shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: England, circa 1875, in the manner of Montanari. Value Points: very beautiful and expressive facial modeling and expression, original wax arms, early costume, fine large size
