Description
28" (71 cm.) Carved wooden shoulder head depicting gentleman with sculpted short black hair, sculpted and painted facial features, elongated muslin body, carved wooden lower limbs. Condition: restoration of painting to face and complexion, some muslin recover. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: fine early model with wonderful detail of hair carving, fine antique costume comprising velvet jacket, silk vest with "jewel" buttons, shirt with ruffled front, silk pants with stirrups, silk top hat, watch fob and locket, and carrying ebony walking stick with gold-plated tip.
