Description
Of creamy softpaste with transfer designes on midnight blue, the set comprised a 7"l, 5"h. lidded tureen,2 gravy boats with attached saucer, 2 large oval platters with lids, two additional oval platters, 2 large round serving plates, an unusual trivet with steam holes, and six dinner plates. Each is decorated with a scene of children at play including a wonderful Polichinelle theatre, girl jumping rope, boy with drum, performing clown, along with some humorous scenes of men on horseback. Impressed P.R. and various numbers. England, mid-19th century. Excellent condition, few minor age lines.
