21" (53 cm.) Poured wax shoulder head turned to the right and nestled into shoulders, blue glass enamel eyes with spiral threading, painted lashes, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pouty expression, brunette mohair tendrils inserted into scalp, original muslin softly stuffed body with stitch-jointing, poured wax arms and legs, bare feet. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: in the Montanari manner, English, circa 1880. Value Points: well-preserved wax doll with fine original maroon woolen fitted dress with straw bonnet trimmed with matching maroon, original matching undergarments.
