Description
23" (58 cm.) A white bisque clown with painted blue clown decorations on face, blue glass eyes, open mouth, teeth, amusing orange and blonde hair, wooden block torso, straw-filled muslin legs with paper mache lower legs, bisque forearms, wearing original (frail) clown costume with lace collar and pom-poms. Puppet strings are attached to his hands and clown hat so he can be danced up and down. Condition: faint circular firing hairline at right forehead is likely original, otherwise excellent. Marks: 1907. Comments: SFBJ, circa 1907. Value Points: rare to find character with original body and costume, beautifully sculpted hands.
