16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, almond shaped blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with smiling expression, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French all-wooden body with dowel-articulation at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles, and ball-swivel waist. Condition: bisque excellent, body finish original albeit worn, five finger tips lacking. Marks: E. (head and shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872, both the smiling face model, and the wooden body were deposed by him. Value Points: pretty smiling poupee with desirable wooden body having complete articulations including waist, antique costume (albeit frail).
