23" (58 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, lightly tinted brown baby hair with detailed stippling around the face, blue glass sleep eyes with heavily modeled eyelids, lightly painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with well-defined space between the shaded lips, composition bent limb baby body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D Lori (incised) S&C Geschutz Germany (stamp). Swaine and Co., circa 1912, from their rare series. Value Points: the delicately complexioned baby with deeply defined features is wearing a superb antique costume comprising pique baby dress, undergarments, booties, and lavish lace edged cape.
