15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and shoulderblades, very plump cheeks and chin, blue glass paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading, thick dark eyeliner, painted dark curly lashes, rose eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined shaded lips centering a daintily-painted row of teeth, pierced ears, light brown mohair wig over cork pate, French kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips, knees and elbows, bisque forearms, antique blue velvet dress with lace trim, undergarments, stockings, black leather shoes, woven bonnet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (circle dot symbol on head and shoulderplate) Bte SGDG (forehead). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1880. Value Points: most beautiful early model with very fine sculpting and bisque, sturdy original body, very beautiful eyes.
