Description
19" (48 cm.) x 13". A colorful heavy cardboard box has cover scene depicting a theatre with orchestra and silhouetted figures on the stage, and inside is a folding heavy paper-board folding theatre whose wings have illustrations of children eagerly watching the performance, and a center stage with fold-down curtain, and opaque paper stage allowing the silhouettes to be shown behind. Included are a large number of die-cut heavy silhouettes including dentist pulling a tooth, man eating a hot dog, man spanking a rascal child, with animated limbs, as well as props and background pieces. Excellent condition, some few pieces worn on silhouettes, sides missing on lid. French, circa 1885.
