14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head that portrays a different face on three sides of head: sleeping with painted closed eyelids, crying with blue glass eyes, molded tears, and closed mouth in crying expression, and smiling with blue glass eyes and illusion of painted teeth, carton hood that attaches to shoulder plate and disguises the two faces not in view, blonde mohair wig, brass turning knob, composition and wooden jointed arms and lower legs, muslin upper legs, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: C.B. Comments: Carl Bergner, circa 1892. Value Points: well-preserved novelty doll with tears, original body and hood.
