Description
12" (30 cm.) h., 13" overall l. A bisque-head boy with blue glass eyes, painted lashes and brows, mohair lashes, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, carton torso, hinged hips, bisque forearms, is attached to a two-wheeled wooden cart that he appears to be pulling. When keywound, the doll alternately lifts each leg as though walking. Condition: hairline at top of head, otherwise excellent, mechanism functions well. Marks: 1079 Germany Halbig S&H 2 1/2. Comments: Roullet et Decamps, circa 1900, with original commissioned bisque head by Simon and Halbig. Value Points: the little boy wears his factory original Sunday best suit, straw hat, leather shoes; the wagon is well-preserved.
