19" (48 cm.) Paper mache solid domed head with flat-cut neck socket, enamel glass inset eyes, incised eyelids, accented nostrils, closed mouth with hint of smile, large and well-detailed sculpting of ears, black human hair, paper mache upper and lower torsos with defined body features, muslin midriff with squeeze bellows crier, muslin upper arms and legs, paper mache lower arms and legs with well defined hands and feet. Condition; generally excellent, three fingers missing. Comments: Ichimatsu doll of Japan, late 19th century. Value Points: wonderfully expressive character features on the rare model doll.
