20" (51 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head with oval face, elongated throat, elaborately sculpted hair with very ornate loop curls at the top of the head captured in so-called Apollo Knot, clusters of tight curls at each side of face, painted facial features, blue eyes, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, slender kid lady body with wooden lower limbs, painted shoes. Condition: structurally excellent, re-varnish of complexion. Comments: Germany, circa 1830. Value Points: rare model with superb coiffure and presence, wearing early green silk gown, collar, undergarments.
