Description

30" (76 cm.) Poured wax shoulder head nestled downward, blue glass spiral threaded eyes with heavy wax eye lids, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, delicate blonde mohair inserted into scalp, softly stuffed muslin stitch-jointed body, poured wax lower arms and legs, bare feet. Condition: very good, some typical fading of facial painting. Marks: (faint stamp including "Oxford Street"). Comments: England, circa 1880. Value Points: splendid large wax child with beautiful honey complexion, wearing original cashmere wool gown with silk ribbons, undergarments.
