Description
26" (66 cm.) Pink tinted poured wax shoulder head depicting a young child, blue glass sleep eyes with waxed eyelids, painted lashes, brows nostrils and lips of closed mouth, delicately inserted brunette hair, softly stuffed muslin stitch-jointed body with poured wax lower limbs, nicely shaped hands and bare feet. Condition: an early line extends horizontally all around the head at the eye level. Comments: English, circa 1865, in the Montanari style. Value Points: rare sleep eyes, superb modeling of facial features, original body and limbs, original and lovely costume.
