Description
13" (33 cm.) h. 11" l. Standing upon a wooden platform with decorative paper covers and hidden wooden wheels is a bisque-head clown with blue glass eyes, painted features, open mouth, teeth, blonde mohair wig, wooden torso, wire upper arms and legs, wooden hands and feet, wearing a silk clown costume. He stands behind a large cardboard drum with decorative decoupage and holds a cymbal and stick in his hands. When pulled along, music plays, he beats the drum, waves arms, turns his head from side to side. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: attributed to Zinner and Sohne, circa 1890. Value Points: well-preserved toy with amusing actions, bright colors and decoration.
