Pressed bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner encircles the eye sockets, painted curly lashes, widely brush-stroked and multi-feathered brows, rose blushed eye shadow, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and outlined lips, separately sculpted pierced ears, brunette hand-tied human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body with plump limbs and straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 16 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1880, an early model of the beautiful Triste or wistful-faced child has loveliest bisque and sculpting, beautiful painting, very rare largest size, and wears a superb antique costume comprising dress, undergarments, stockings, shoes, and elegant silk embroidered cape and bonnet.
