Description
20" (51 cm.) x 14". A wooden framed box with rich paper covering, bail handles, and decorative label "Service de Table" opens to reveal an elaborately fitted interior on three tiers, having rose and blue backgrounds, and a rich miniature pewter dinner service for six, including plates, compotes, tureens, serving dishes, cutlery, napkin rings and napkins, and with glassware cake dishes and decanter, paper mache "cakes", and a superb gilded cruet holder marked CBG Paris. Excellent condition, the service is beautifully preserved as originally presented in elegant box. Cuperly, Blondel, and Gerbeau, circa 1885.
