Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark painted lashes and eyeliner, widely feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: L'Intrepide R.D. Bte SGDG. Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1890, the head appeared on classic bebe bodies and on the walking bebe from Roullet and Decamps; although marked differently it is actually the classic tete model. Value Points: fine unplayed with original condition, the bebe has original soft mohair wig, pate, body, body finish, original chemise, and original shoes signed "Paris Depose 6" with bee symbol.
