27" (69 cm.) h,", 29". A child's riding horse has cast iron horse's head including ears, cast iron fancy under-frame and pedals, and carved wooden body in prancing pose, on three-wheeled base. Sold as is, in as found condition, the painted finish lacking on horse head, very worn on body, glass eyes missing. The tricycle horse was popular in France for a number of years, and its construction ranged from this very early model with cast iron head to simplistic later models. A true treasure, worthy of proper restoration. French, circa 1850.
