19" (48 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead of adult lady with oval heart-shaped face and elongated throat, brown sculpted hair in unusual coiffure waved loosely around her face, then swept behind her ears into ringlet curls that tumble in front of her sculpted collar, the crown of her hair formed into rolled bun which is ornamented by a Sevres blue hair comb accented with gilt. She has fully-shaped pierced ears, blue glass inset eyes with dark eyeliner, delicately painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, sculpted and painted gilt-framed brooch which dangles from her gilt-accented blue throat ribbon, sculpted bodice ruffles with magenta and pink edging, muslin stitch-jointed body, leather arms, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 5 P 7 N (incised). Comments: Germany, circa 1870. Value Points: stunningly beautiful doll whose rarity points include brown color of hair, glass eyes, elaborate coiffure with hair comb, richly sculpted jewelry, original body and fine early costume.
