18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head, deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, widely arched brush stroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition body jointed at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: B P. 9 G. Comments: Pintel and Godchaux, circa 1891, the body was deposed by the firm in 1891,and the tradename "Bebe Charmant" was registered by them; an illustration of the body depose appears in Theimer's Encyclopedia of French Dolls. Value Points: pretty wide-eyed bebe with original deposed body, wearing original muslin chemise with Bebe Charmant label, nice old leather shoes.
