Description
16" (41 cm.) Of embossed pressed tin in the shape of a Chinese man, having sculpted detail of costume, hands, and facial features, with brass edged border having embossed design of gargoyle heads. The figure, known as "Buddha" has painted and defined facial features including moustache and queue, and costume decorations. The painted tin lens cover has gold stenciled design, and he "wears" a hat-shaped chimney. Excellent condition, burner not included. Paint is original and wonderfully preserved with very minor rubs. Marked "Brevete SGDG". Louis Aubert, France, circa 1875.
