11" (28 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, painted lashes, widely feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over Steiner pate, French composition fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Le Parisien (red stamp) Paris (incised, on head) Bebe Le Parisien Medaille d'Pr Paris (body). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1890, commissioned by the Paris doll shop of Au Nain Bleu. Value Points: most appealing petite size with original signed body, body finish, lovely bisque, wearing original chemise, with antique trunk containing two (frail) original silk dresses, original undergarments, original leather shoes signed "Au Nain Bleu".
