10" (25 cm.) doll. 16" x 12" trunk. A wooden-framed presentation box with decorative paper wraps and engraving, hinges open to reveal well-fitted interior, comprising bisque doll with brown glass sleep eyes, painted facial features, open mouth, four teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, and contents. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Dep 0. Comments: circa 1895, for the French market, the doll and trousseau were likely prepared for a luxury boutique Etrennes gift. Value Points: in unplayed with condition, the superb presentation includes six luxurious silk or woolen ensembles, each with dress or coat and bonnet (one being an unusual Pierrette costume and including a bisque-headed miniature marotte); a hidden lower level presents six undergarments, a porcelain wash set, and two glass-topped boxes with 12 miniature accessories including perfume, soap, brushes, fingerless gloves, and more.
