15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, very large blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, long painted lashes, feathered brows, rose blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid child body with gusset-jointing at hips, knees and elbows, bisque lower arms. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Sonneberg, mystery maker, circa 1882, the doll closely resembles the early Bru bebe whose market the doll attempted to capture. Value Points: excellent bisque, fine detail of painting around the beautiful eyes, very sturdy body, original French-style dress with lace trim, knit stockings, leather shoes in the manner of early Bru shoes.
