13" (33 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, blue glass enamel eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, sculpted wide curly moustache, brunette mohair wig, kid poupee body, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 0. Comments: French, circa 1880, the poupee is costumed as man of the vineyards, wearing original woolen suit and hat decorated with award silk medallions, grape cluster, and carrying symbolic grape scythe. Value Points: rare sculpted moustache, rare costume, the doll likely commissioned as symbolic model for prominent vineyard or marchand de vin.
