Condition: generally excellent. mechanism functions well albeit typically poor sound. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau 11 (head) (faint Lioret mark on mechanism). Comments: Emile Jumeau presented the Bebe Phonographe in 1893 in collaboration with Henri Lioret who invented the musical mechanism. Value Points: a luxury doll, costing at its time more than twice the price of a standard bebe, the doll is preserved with its original dress having opening flap at the front for disc access, original signed "Paris Depose 11" shoes with bee symbol, and one original recording.
