23" (58 cm.) Wax over paper mache shoulder head, blue glass sleep eyes, feathered brows, open mouth, two square upper and two square lower teeth, blonde mohair wig, muslin covered midriff containing bellows crier that operates by pressing two wooden buttons in chest, paper mache lower torso and lower arms and legs, bare feet. Condition: very good, some typical craquelure of wax, small eye rim flakes, Comments: Germany, circa 1850, rare early taufling baby with distinctive bellows crier, wearing original (albeit frail) ice blue silk dress and bonnet, undergarments.
