Description
16" (41 cm.) Carved wooden socket head with carved boyish hair having highly defined sculpting combmarks, tousled curls, intaglio blue eyes, white eye dots, accented nostrils and eye corners, feathered brows, closed mouth in beaming smile, row of painted teeth, all-wooden spring- jointed body, antique costume. Condition: original painted finish is quite well preserved, with typical fading on hair found on early model, nose and cheek rub. Marks: Schoenhut Doll, Pat. Jan.17, 11 USA & Foreign Countries. Comments: Schoenhut, circa 1912. Value Points: rare early model with appealing expression, original finish.
