Description

2" (5 cm.) Each is one piece carved wooden head, arms and torso with sculpted detail of hair, hats and costume, with loosely dangling wooden legs, and tri-pod stick-pin balance base. The dolls were designed to rest upon a stick, drum, tabletop or such, and when the platform was lightly tapped, the dolls would "dance" about. Germany, circa 1880, the dolls were imported to France and used in many luxury Parisian parlor toy presentations, as well as being sold separately. Excellent condition, bright vivid costume colors and variations of style.
