Description

11" (28 cm.) A bisque swivel-headed lady with rich amber complexion, kid-lined bisque shoulder plate, large brown glass eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, black mohair wig, carton torso, wire upper arms and legs, paper mache lower arms and legs, is attached to a flower cart with three metal spoked wheels and woven basket bed containing a large arrangement of silk flowers. When wound from key at side of body, the lady briskly walks forward pushing the flower cart. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism functions well. Comments: Vichy, circa 1875, the automaton has the classic Vichy key. Value Points: beautiful and rare automaton with lovely amber tinted complexion, dramatic brown eyes, nicely fashioned original cart, functions well.
