25" (64 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head with uniquely sculpted recessed scalp to allow for realistic application of wig, oval facial shape and elongated throat, high forehead, aquiline nose, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eye liner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, brunette human hair wig, kid poupee body with gusset jointing, shapely torso, stitched and separated fingers. wearing lovely antique gown, undergarments, fingerless gloves. Condition: generally excellent, body is appropriate and very sturdy and clean, albeit signed Jumeau. Comments Leverd & Cie,the hair design was deposed by that firm in 1869 and the model, likely made by Bru, was created for one or two years only. Value Points: among the rarest of the French poupees. combining rarity with exquisite and majestic beauty, superb bisque and painting, including detail of ears, nose and chin, indentations around the eyes.
