Description

12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 3 (head) 2 (torso and feet) B (impressed left foot). Comments: SFBJ, circa 1910. Value Points: the little bebe wears her original deluxe blue velvet coat and bonnet, undergarments, brown leather shoes impressed "3", and has an original calling card from Madame Germaine Jumeau (likely the daughter, Helene- Germaine, of Emile Jumeau) with the inscription (in French) of best wishes for good memories. The gift and notation indicate the family's continuing close connection with the firm even after the SFBJ formation; Germaine would have been about 25 years old in 1910.
