6" (15 cm.) Each of nine pieces of the bowling set ("jeu de quilles") is an animal balancing upon a circus drum, as though performing a trained act for an appreciative audience; each has painted facial features, costume or fur, and fancy hat; included are pigs, cats, dogs, elephant and bears. Excellent condition. French, circa 1890. Rare complete set with perfectly preserved original finish.
