19" (48 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, sculpted hair with forelock curl, small blue glass sleep eyes, painted curly lashes, lightly-tinted brows, open mouth with sculpted tongue tip at lower lip, row of porcelain upper teeth, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique mariner costume. Condition: generally excellent, some body retouch. Marks: Germany 926 5. Comments: Germany, mystery maker, possibly Porzellanfabrick Mergensgereuth, circa 1920. Value Points: rare model with wonderful dimpled smiling expression, impressed crinkles around eye corners and cheeks, fine quality bisque.
