Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderhead, blue glass enamel inset eyes and dark outlined irises, painted lashes, feathered brows, rose blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined pale lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, kid child body with gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, bisque lower arms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 132 4. Comments: attributed to C.F. Kling, circa 1882, the model closely resembles the Brevete model of Bru which it aimed to portray. Value Points: especially beautiful doll with subtle shading of complexion, antique wig with original hip-length braids, lovely ecru silk dress which is likely original. Private collection Merle Glickman.
