13" (33 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head depicting elderly balding man with unruly curls at sides and nape, sideburns which extend to the edges of the drooping moustache, deeply-incised age wrinkles on forehead, defined wart, enamel eyes, gaunt cheeks, mouth modeled open, teeth, tow-wrapped armature posable body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, wearing rough shepherd costume of homespun materials, and carrying homespun shoulderbag with little lamb. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
