19" (48 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass enamel inset eyes with dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose-blushed eyeshadow, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with gentle smile enhanced by accented lower lip, pierced ears, light brown human hair wig over cork pate, French wooden body with shapely torso having swivel waist, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, body finish original with light scuffing. Marks: H (head and shoulders) Depose (forehead rim). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, who deposed the smiling model head, possibly a portrait of Empress Eugenie, in 1872. Value Points: an outstanding example of the sought-after model with most artistic painting, original rare body.
