Description
3" (8 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with light brown sculpted hair and painted facial features, muslin upper limbs, bisque lower limbs, painted flat black shoes. The torso, which is hidden under her original gown is a walnut shell that opens at the center to form a silk-fitted baby bed in which is tucked a tiny china head doll. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1875. Value Points: rare miniature with amusing hidden secret, entirely original.
