Pressed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with modeled bosom and shoulder blades, brown glass enamel inset eyes, almond shaped eye sockets with thick black eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, open mouth with sculpted interior to appear as though closed, accented lips, defined tongue, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, pierced ears, kid bebe body with gusset-jointing, bisque forearms, wearing aqua and ivory silk antique dress that may be original, matching crepe de chine bonnet with flowers, undergarments, knit stockings, Condition: generally excellent, body especially sturdy and fresh, restoration to right thumb. Marks: Bte SGDG (forehead) (circle/dot symbol on back of head) Depose 1 T. (shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1880, a rare transitional model incorporating elements of circle dot and Teteur/Gourmand models. Value Points: exceptionally fine quality of sculpting and fine luminous bisque on the rare Bru bebe, having original sturdy body.
