14" (36 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-lined bisque shoulder plate, almond shaped blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, kid poupee body with shapely torso, square cut collarette, gusset-jointing at hips, knees and elbows, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1870, the smiling model was deposed by him and is believed to be inspired by the Empress Eugenie of France. Value Points: fine unplayed with condition of the rare poupee model having very sturdy body, original muslin chemise, undergarments, leather shoes.
