Description
20" (51 cm.) Each is paper lithographed theatrical figure, originally printed on large sheets and designed to be cut and assembled as here. Each has one piece head and torso, jointed one piece arms, and jointed two-piece legs that are loosely joined to each other and a pull-string; when the string is pulled the figures vigorously dance about in joyful fashion. Condition: generally excellent, colors vibrant and intact on entirely original lithographed papers albeit assembly and wood backing appears later. Comments: French, Pellerin, circa 1890. Value Points: the delightful theatre figures include Harlequin, Polichinelle, Pierrette, and Lady Dancer, in wonderful rare large size with rich colors.
