Description
8" (20 cm.) A paper mache Spanish picador with painted facial features, sculpted sideburns, applied paper mache hat, wooden block torso, wooden hand and feet, wearing original silk costume with feet resting in paper mache painted stirrups is seated upon a brown paper mache horse with glass eyes, painted mane, velvet saddle blanket with metallic edging. Condition: generally excellent, unplayed with condition albeit a bit dusty. Marks: Le Picador Exposition Universelle Paris 1878. Comments: French, circa 1890, when wound the horse and rider buck up and down. Value Points: wonderful early toy in perfectly preserved condition.
