Description
14" (36 cm.) A bisque-headed doll with blue glass eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, is attached to unique body with cork torso, wooden and gutta-percha loosely hinged limbs which, when wound, cause the doll to move arms and legs in a swimming motion. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: the swimming doll was deposed in France by Elie Martin and was a sensation for many years. Value Points: unusually beautiful face on this model, wearing her original antique swim suit.
