11" (28 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head (identical model to lot #311 with sculpted snood) with black sculpted hair and painted facial features, is attached to shapely carton torso and skirt form that encloses mechanism, kid arms with stitched and separated fingers, brass feet, well costumed. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism functions well. Marks: Patented July 15th 1862.... Comments: patented by Enoch Rice Morrison as "Autoperipatetikous" and, when wound, she lifts her legs alternately and appears to walk. Value Points: beautiful face enhances the charming movement of the early American toy.
