21" (53 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, dark painted lashes, widely feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, defined space between the outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, wearing lovely silk frock printed with delicate flowers, lace trim, undergarments, leatherette shoes, lace bonnet, and carrying Petit Paroissien for communion studies. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 9 (head, and untinted white space at back). Comments: Emile Jumeau, under commission to Parisian department stores who affixed their own paper labels on the blank white space, circa 1890. Value Points: especially pretty expression enhanced by fine creamy bisque, deep eyes, original Jumeau wig, original body and body finish.
