Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead depicting young man with black complexion, enamel eyes, black painted brows and sculpted tightly-curled hair, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden arms and legs, painted black stockings, brown slippers with red outlines, wearing original costume comprising white cotton shirt under coral silk tunic, embroidered lined vest, silk crepe striped short harem pants, ornamental gilt short-sword with coral tips, and draped turban. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neapolitan, mid-1700s. Value Points: exceptional sculpting and most artistic painting of complexion and features.
